It sounds fantastic Kate. What a great feat of organization and so lovely to have a party with such a great purpose and with people you share such strong bonds with.

Was shattered afterwards. Don’t think I will be doing it in ten years time even if I am alive although we did drink to it. x

Fab sounding party and an amazing amount raised for Mountain Rescue, presumably that’s your insurance policy against ever having to need them.

Hugh Corcoran had a bit of a rant on Instagram about people not eating and drinking enough at his only open lunch time restaurant, he felt they ought to be eating more than just a main and drinking with abandon….

Yes, exactly. We are v hot on safety in the club but people can still have accidents.

Interesting about Hugh Corcoran. I stopped following him as found him a bit ranty but will have a look. We did go to Italo and found no wine list a bit unnerving. He just chose us a bottle. Don’t think people necessarily want to drink a lot at lunchtime

Sounds like a great party ! My sister and I have been running charity suppers from my tiny kitchen for over 15 years now and I’ve certainly got better at ‘getting ahead’…. 2025 will see guest chefs joining me and subscriptions to my Substack go to the charity too. It’s been a joy to cook and make new friends so I think lots more of us could use our food for fundraising ( and conviviality too!)

Getting ahead and being tidy definitely the key. I have cooked for lots of church, and school things back in the day but it was a first asking existing friends to pay. So good to use a skill for charity
