What are your cookbook gaps? I lost all my cookbooks in a move from India back to DC several years back, including a binder with all sorts of recipes torn from magazines and newspapers I had collected over years... so sad. Only recently have I started to buy cookbooks again.
It's completely random and just if I see anything mentioned anywhere that I fancy. I do have a lot.... Last week I bought Ducksoup as I had been to Emilia in Ashburton, an italian based osteria by the same chefs and I love their seasonal simple philosophy. I have a scrapbook too but hardly ever make anything out of it.
Another tempting desert to make from your list - I've never had white chocolate cake.
It's chips of white chocolate and fresh raspberries in a sponge cake and is really good. Ive never done it either before. And very quick to make
I, too, wonder about the overpublishing of cookbooks. It's not often now that I see one I really want.
So much this. I'm buying old ones now secondhand to fill in gaps and there are only certain writers whose books I feel will add things.
